Hot Steamy Buns Anyone?

It’s a shame when the Hot Steamy Bun Machine is out of order.

I know…..I’m really immature, but I thought it was amusing!! I made sure to take the picture really quick because I thought it might be embarassing to get asked to leave for inappropriate photo taking.

Marshmallow Man

These Snowman Cupcakes from Martha Stewart are so cute and easy to make!!!! Directions below:

Happy times with kids call for cheerful cupcakes. Easier to serve than cake, cupcakes require no slicing, no plates, and no forks — and every child gets her fair share of icing.

All the designs on these pages start as Chocolate Cupcakes or Vanilla Cupcakes iced with Swiss Meringue Buttercream — perfect for spreading in thin layers or sculpting into thick mounds (and licking from the bowl).

The cupcakes can be baked a week ahead and frozen, but decorate them no more than a day before serving. Set up an assembly line, and put kids in charge of affixing candy eyes, gumdrop cheeks, and other trimmings. Pack the cupcakes in a shallow plastic container, and stuff crumpled waxed paper in between. Then dole them out and watch kids marvel for a second before opening wide!

Snowman Cupcake How-To
This snowman wears a fine winter hat: a chocolate-covered mint beret. His plump figure is two marshmallows — cut a slice off the top one and squish to make it smaller. Dabs of icing hold parts together. His eyes are chocolate sprinkles (poke holes first with a wet toothpick), and his nose is cut from a gummy fish.

Toby the Corgi

Guess who trotted into our office this morning? Yes……..Toby the CORGI!!!!! I was working at my desk and heard the jingle jangle of a collar and looked up to see him coming for a visit. One of the architects in the firm next to us brought his dog in and the dog decided he was going to explore the floor. Well, it’s amazing how a cute puppy stops all work. Everyone was like “well hello!” He hung out for about 20 mins before we decided we should probably let Toby’s owner know where he was. All of my co-workers were like ”is this your dog” and I replied with “no my corgi-mix is MUCH bigger.” Toby’s owner and I started taking about corgis and he said he calls corgi-mixes Frankencorgi’s because they always turn out kind of odd looking. As the mama of a corgi-lab I will take that as a compliment, not an insult. I love our odd Dot!!

 To bad Dottie couldn’t come to work. I would get no work done.

Dottie Dog

While reading Decor8, I noticed these cute stuffed dogs from Etsy seller Christinas. With the exception of the ears, they look like Dottie. Too bad they’re all sold out!!

A Few More of My Favorite Things

I’m not trying to be greedy, but I have stumbled upon a few books that I wouldn’t mind finding under the tree. I really don’t need anything and am happy just to be able go home for Christmas and spend time with family.

A Few Things…..

Here are a few things I wouldn’t mind getting for Christmas. I know Christmas is for giving and being thankful, but I would not turn down any of these items. Just in case anyone was wondering…..

Earthly Goods Gift Card – There fabric selection is really great and they have a ton of Amy Butler fabric and patterns.

Le Creuset Kettle in Lemongrass – The one I have from Ikea, which I paid $1.99 for, works just fine but is definately not as pretty.

Ida Pearl Alphabet Cards – So cute!!

Sephora Blockbuster Palette – Who wants to play dress up? This always sells out so quickly. I missed out last year.

I’m sure I’ll add a few more things before Christmas….
