Cakes Galore

As a collector of cake stands (I have approx. 10-12) I really love this photo from Oh Happy Day. I’ve always wanted to have an event or party or some type of brunch where I bake like a maniac and pull out all of my cake stands. That would definately be a Martha Stewart moment!!!

Gold Buckles

I had a lovely weekend with my Mom, we brunched and shopped and my cold got worse! Yeah fun times!! Puffs Kleenex is the best stuff on the planet While we were shopping I picked up these cute Nine West flats in brown. The best part is the gold buckle, hopefully they won’t give me blisters…we shall see.

SMART Mom

I’m super excited that my Mom is coming to visit this weekend!!! I hope my cold goes away by tomorrow morning.

In Case of Brownie Emergency

During a recent trip to the grocery store, I noticed that Pillsbury now has brownie batter that’s all pre-mixed and ready to be baked. OFFICIALLY THE EASIEST BAKING EVER!!! They were on sale so I bought a roll and they were REALLY GOOD!!! My favorite part was within 1 minute I had brownies baking. All you do is cut off the edge, dump into a pan, spread, bake and DONE!!! I didn’t check the fat content it would have ruined my brownie magic!

Soft Hands

I must be feeling homesick because I keep blogging about all things Canadian!

On Saturday, we met some friends at the Alex Theatre, in Glendale, for their annual Vaudeville Extravaganza. As my husband I were walking to the car he grabbed my hand and said “wow, you hands are really soft.” What’s funny is as I was telling him what kind of lotion I used, he was slowly steering me into a shaggy tree that had grown over the sidewalk (for giggles). Ah, the romance is definately alive in our house!! 

Anyway, the lotion I was telling him about was Rocky Mountain Soap Company Lavender Body Butter. I highly recommend it, especially for the winter months!! It kind of looks like a stick of deoderant so if you apply it in public, people might think you are slathering deoderant all over your arms and legs. Oh, well at least your skin will be soft!!

Sarah’s House

One of my favorite Canadian Interior Designers is Sarah Richardson. It’s weird to see the Fine Living channel just now playing her show Room Service. Sarah Richardson has been on Canadian TV for quite some time and the show Room Service is 4-5 years old already and a tad bit out of date. Her new shows Design Inc. and Sarah’s House are much more modern and contemporary. I love that she is a working Designer and not simply a TV personality. Her work is really fantastic!!! The show Sarah’s House is great because she is actually designing and renovating her own house.  I am very sad that you can’t watch the complete season of Sarah’s house on www.hgtv.ca in the States. Grrrr!!!

Dottie Days

I know the video’s old, but I wanted to post it anyway…. just because I love her!!!

I would much rather be napping with Dot right now, than sitting at my desk at work. She’s so funny during the day! The other day I came home and there were bones hidden in the couch cushions and her squeaky moose was pulled out and all of the throw cushions were on the floor. Either someone was upset at being left at home or she decided to throw a party? Hmmmmm…….I’m thinking a party!

Also, I can’t believe how much our apartment has changed in the last year!! Dottie prefers our new more expensive couch A LOT MORE than the Ikea special!

Cartoon’s On Drugs!!

WOW!!!! I’m setting our Tivo to record Yo Gabba Gabba on Nick Jr. FANTASTIC!!!!! It’s like cartoons on drugs!!!

And I thought Pee Wee’s Playhouse was crazy in my day!!!

Making a Mess

I was bored last night, so I pulled out the embosser and all of my crafting stuff and CREATED!! It was fun to just play and spill sparkles all over the table and listen to itunes. My favorite are the bug stationary pieces. Dottie still had sparkles on her nose this morning!!
