Dreary Day

Today, is one of those days where I just want to be at home in sweatpants, drinking coffee and Gocco-ing.  These wrap around labels from Paper+Cup have inspired me! Kind of different…I like them.

Presto Chango

I love Swallowfield’s customized laptop skin. The best part is 1) the price, only $20 and 2) you can take it off when you get tired of the design.

Paris, I love You!

I’ve never been to Paris, but after seeing Paris, Je T’aime, I really, really want to go. Doesn’t everybody? My favorites were:

1. Faubourg Saint-Denis (Xe arrondissement), Tom Tykwer (writer/director). Melchoir Belson, Natalie Portman. After mistakenly believing that that his girlfriend, a struggling actress (Portman), has broken up with him, a young blind man (Belson) reflects on the growth and seeming decline of their relationship.

2. 14e arrondissement (XIVe arrondissement), Alexander Payne (writer/director). Margo Martindale. An American tourist (Martindale), a mail carrier from Denver on her first European holiday, recites in rough French what she loves about Paris.

3. Bastille (XIIe arrondissement), Isabel Coixet (writer/director). Sergio Castellitto,  Miranda Richardson, Leonor Watling. Prepared to leave his marriage for a much younger lover (Watling), a man (Castellitto) instead decides to stay with his wife (Richardson) after she reveals a terminal illness - and discovers the love he once felt for her.

4. Quartier Latin (VIe arrondissement), Gena Rowlands (writer), Gerard Depardieu (Director), Frederic Auburtin (director). Gena Rowlands, Ben Gazzara, Gerard Depardieu. A separated couple (Gazzara and Rowlands) meet in a bar (run by Depardieu) for one last drink before the two officially divorce.

Edwards You Suck!

UPDATE: So we arrive at the theatre extra early last night and get all settled in with our popcorn and beverages and are super excited for the show to begin when…..drum roll…….we miss the first 15 minutes because the theatre messed up the live feed. They could not get the sound to work….and then couldn’t get the visual to work. Since it was a live feed they could not restart the show. GRRRRRRR!!!!

After the crappy start, the rest of the show was REALLY good and we laughed a lot.

Note to Edwards Renaissance Stadium 14: I don’t want a Free Movie ticket for the mistake, I want to see the first 20 minutes of the show.

Happy Birthday

Yeah for birthday’s and cake!!! April 24th was my Dad’s birthday, which I was super happy to be home for, and yesterday was my husband’s birthday. Last night, we celebrated with a trip to the Apple store and a deluxe pizza at Manny’s in Pasadena.

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!!!

I’m super excited for my three day work week!!! On Thursday I’ll be travelling home to THIS….

EDMONTON - Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for City of Edmonton, St. Albert and Sherwood Park.

We can expect to get 5 to 10 centimetres of snow by the end of the day on top of the 25 cm that has fallen on the Edmonton area since Saturday.

Environment Canada says a deep low pressure system currently in northern Saskatchewan is slowly moving to the northeast. This winter storm continues to wrap moist air into the northern regions of Alberta producing heavy snow. The most intense snow is currently in a band over Edson, Slave Lake, Red Earth and Fort Chipewyan. This band is now shifting over the Edmonton area and yet another deposit of 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected today.

I’m sorry but THIS is UNACCEPTABLE!!! It’s almost May and Spring has fully sprung in Burbank. Did Canada not get the message? AHHHH!!! I even bought super cute pink shoes with bows to wear while I’m there. Instead I will be wearing a winter coat, boats, and mittens.

Oh well…I’m still really excited to see everyone :)
